Multi-Supplier Consolidation

MULTI-SUPPLIER CONSOLIDATION

Consolidate your food and drink shipments from different suppliers in Spain and Portugal to fill a container and make considerable logistics savings.

Our multi-supplier consolidation service enables importers to group together goods from different suppliers in a warehouse, filling a container to a high percentage of its capacity and considerably reducing transport costs per item or kilo. As the container goes directly to the importer’s warehouse in the country of destination, additional time and cost savings are made in terms of handling.

HOW DOES MULTI-SUPPLIER CONSOLIDATION WORK FOR REEFER GOODS

The customer sends us the information about their purchase orders (PO), and we contact their suppliers, confirming the availability of the goods to be collected and the scheduled shipment date.

We offer advice to exporters, should they require it, and handle the necessary customs procedures. Depending on the agreed terms of sale, we can collect the goods ex-works (EXW), or they can be delivered to our warehouse (FCA/FOB). Whatever the terms of sale, the importer in the country of destination will be able to track and trace their shipment at all times.

Once the goods from all the different suppliers have arrived at the warehouse, we offer the following services:

  • Quality control checks.
  • Goods weighing.
  • Goods labelling to comply with the regulations in force in the country of destination.
  • Sorting and order preparation.
  • Palletising.

After loading, we always take several photographs of the goods which we send to the importer, together with all the required documentation, so that they can check the products are correctly stowed.

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT USED FOR CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE SHIPPING

Temperature gauges are installed in different areas of the container so that the importer can check that the cold chain is maintained throughout the transportation process.

Thermal blankets and other insulating materials can be used for products that require a slightly higher temperature than those normally used in reefers.

MULTI-SUPPLIER CONSOLIDATION OR REFRIGERATED LCL GROUPAGE?

It is standard practice for importers to put goods that require controlled temperatures in a reefer (ham, cheese, wine, etc.), with other products that do not (oil, water, canned goods, etc.). This is a good alternative to reefer groupage service or air freight.
