HAULING OF CONTAINERS OUT OF BL

Domestic land transport

  • What does the service include?

Transfer of containers from its arrival at the port to the final destination and vice versa. This applies in cases where domestic ground transportation is not included in the maritime transport contract. Domestic transportation options include:

    • By road: in full and single truck.
    • Multimodal: combining truck and train.
    • Products: general and refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and high-value products.
    • Available equipment: container carriers, flatbeds, 1-ton and 3.5-ton trucks, Rabon, Thorton, and 53′ dry van trailers.
  • What benefits do I get?

Booking domestic land transportation separately from the Bill of Lading (BL) offers several advantages, including faster equipment allocation, greater flexibility in pickup and delivery locations, direct communication and shipment tracking, enhanced security protocols, and better cost control.

What kind of international land transportation is best for me?

According to cost and urgency:

  • With transfer

    Low cost – higher TT

The cargo is transferred from one unit to another, so that one makes the trip in Mexico and the other in USA. It is the most economical option and with better availability. Transit time may also be longer both for the transfer of the cargo and for waiting for the American or Mexican unit to continue to the final destination.

  • Direct

    Medium cost – TT faster

The same unit goes across the border and makes the trip in Mexico and USA. There is no cargo handling at the border, so this option is faster as there is no waiting time for a new unit.

  • EXPRESS EXPEDITED

    High cost – faster TT

This is the fastest and safest option, generally used by just in time industries such as the automotive or aeronautics sector, where speed prevails over other factors as the reaction time is very fast.

According to the volume of my cargo:

  • Unconsolidated loose cargo

    Small cargo

For cargo that does not fill a 48’/53′ box but requires meeting delivery appointments, pickup, or special care due to its value. Available means: Sprinter van, 8 tons, 12 tons.

  • Consolidated

Consolidated with other cargo in 1 unit

For low volume, low weight, non-urgent, non-high value cargo that can go consolidated with other cargo and be an economical option.

  • Single

    1 unit

    A tractor-trailer hauls a single container or a single 53’/48’/40′ dry box.

  • Full

    2 units

One tractor pulls two containers or two 40′ boxes.
