Sea ports of Spain
The Spanish port network belongs to the State and is managed by the public entity “Puertos del estado”
According to the Ministry of public works, Spanish ports spends about 85% of imports and 60% of exports and 53% of the Spanish foreign trade with the European Union and 96% to other countries. The Spanish port system provides 20% of GDP in the transport sector and 1.1% of national GDP.

There are running 28 port authorities that manage 47 state ports. The management of other Spanish ports has been transferred to the regions.
