MEDICAL WAREHOUSING IN SPAIN

The Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) requires all importers who request an import licence for medical devices and products to have their own or subcontracted facilities which have been inspected and authorised by the Government Health Department.

According to the legislation regarding the importation of medical devices and products and cosmetics, medical warehousing is required in order to obtain:

  • IMPORT LICENCE FOR MEDICAL DEVICES AND PRODUCTS

    Medical warehousing is a requirement for obtaining an import licence for medical devices and products. For a given period, the licence authorises the importation of particular medical devices and products via certain facilities or medical warehouses under the supervision of a medical technical manager.

  • DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY FOR IMPORTING COSMETICS

    The Declaration of Conformity is the document submitted to the AEMPS which includes the details of the company as well as those of the authorised medical warehouse used for the importation and of the technical manager who will supervise the process.

    Some imports arrive in Spain without adequate labelling or packaging for national distribution and sale. In our warehousing you can tailor your products to meet European regulations without the need to hire a third company as we can offer labelling, re-labelling, re-packing and cleaning facilities, etc. according to requirements.

  • QUARANTINE

    Medical devices and products that must not be distributed whilst awaiting a definitive decision regarding their commercialisation can be safeguarded in our warehouses. Cargo that must be quarantined is physically separated from the rest of the cargo in a dedicated area within the warehouse. It is also separated electronically which allows us to monitor and track it much more closely.

  • MONITORING QUALITY CONTROLS

    Our IT systems allow traceability of all the information regarding the controls carried out, that is to say, you will be able to access reports on all controls carried out at any time.

  • COMPUTERISED TEMPERATURE RECORDS

    Thanks to our standardised system and our technical facilities we can periodically take a record of the temperature. This record is also reviewed by our medical specialists ensuring that at any point you can check your cargo is being kept at the right temperature.

  • PHARMACEUTICAL CUSTOMS MANAGEMENT

    We have the customs authorisation to operate as a customs warehouse, non-customs warehouse and temporary storage facility. As well as gaining from the tax benefits of using these facilities, you will save time and money as you will not need to take your cargo to customs for clearance, we do it all for you in our warehouses.

  • TRANSPORT AND DELIVERY

    We manage transport needs according to the requirements of the medical devices and products sector, with urgent delivery, 24 hour or same day delivery, etc. You will also benefit from on-line information regarding all of your deliveries.

  • INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

    We have all of the necessary tools to carry out both regular and one-off inventory management. All the goods are electronically recorded along with the information necessary to carry out inventories such as expiry, batch, location, receipt date, etc.
