During April ,we joined the solidarity campaign Sandals 4 Schools, a social responsibility project that highlights the natural beauty of Mexico and its people and presents it to the rest of the world; while at the same time contributes to raise funds to make and distribute adjustable sandals (The Shoe That Grows), aimed at providing low-income children with comfortable footwear to go to school.Over 1.5 billion people suffer from soil-borne diseases. Without shoes, children are especially vulnerable to parasitic diseases caused by different species of worms.
Sandals 4 Schools solidarity project for the donation of children’s shoes
The beginning of Sandals 4 Schools dates back 3 years ago, when Olivier Evans, Deputy Ambassador of the British Embassy in Mexico, began to run our country running and realized his diverse and cultural reality.
This fact impelled him to want to change the life of children of scarce resources in Mexico, introducing to the country the sandals distributed by The Shoe That Grows Foundation, an innovative footwear that can be expanded up to five times its size and has an average lifecycle of five years, and can adjust to the feet of growing children. This shoe keeps children´s feet protected and safe; making them healthier, attending school more frequently, and increasing their self-confidence.
Our corporate social responsibility campaign
As part of our social initiatives, our office joined this noble cause, contributing with an internal campaign during the month of April where, for each pair of shoes that employees buy through this campaign, TIBA will contribute with an additional one in benefit of the kids. But do not worry if you are late, because it is possible to make donations every day of the year. The campaign will be run internally during April only, but it will be possible to make donations year round. Join us to make a difference in the lives of these kids.
